Commercial Photography

What is commercial photography ? I've been asked this question a few times as people don't always know and as photographers we shouldn't assume that everyone would know.

What I call commercial photography is anything that a business needs photographing. It could be that a company needs photographs of their staff for their company website, it could be products that a company sells or a service that they provide.

I think the term commercial photography covers most things apart from say weddings or individuals that want private photos of their family or children.
